Why See a Chiropractor

If you have an auto accident injury, back pain or any other type of injury, chiropractic care offers a natural pathway to healing. In fact, chiropractic care is the most natural form of health care available. By maintaining the motion of the spine and freeing restrictions we remove nerve interference that blocks the normal self-regulating body functions. At Springwater Chiropractic in Fairview, OR, we help the body to heal itself without the need for drugs or surgery.

Pain is a warning signal that lets you know something is seriously wrong. Most of our patients see us initially because of back pain or neck pain. At Springwater Chiropractic our first goal is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible. After you are pain free you will also recognize the other benefits of chiropractic care, such as an overall sense of well being and increased energy.

We strive to make our care affordable to everyone. Springwater Chiropractic bills insurance for you. If you don’t have coverage we offer time-of-service fees. Most insurance plans cover chiropractic care and most auto insurance policies cover 100% of our fees.

Treatable Conditions

Ankle Sprains

Adjustments of the foot and laser therapy are some of the things we do to heal you from an ankle sprain. We also will show you balance retraining exercises to insure your ankle is strong and will reduce the chances of you having another ankle sprain.

Arthritis Pain

Osteoarthritis is very common and it can be very painful. The most important thing to do is to maintain full motion of the joints that are affected. This slows the degenerative process and allows you to live life without limitations and joint pain.

Back Pain

Chiropractic treatment is best known for treating back pain. Maintaining proper alignment of the spine and normal motion eliminates the pressure on the nerves that cause back pain. That’s why so many people have found it works great for them.

Car Accidents

Car accidents usually come with a variety of injuries; Whiplash, neck pain, jaw pain, back pain, numbness in the arms, hands or legs all can result from an auto accident. At Springwater Chiropractic we are uniquely qualified to treat a car accident injury because we offer so many different therapies; From chiropractic adjustments of the joints, therapeutic massage, electric muscle stimulation and the latest low level laser therapy to assure you recover fully in the quickest amount of time.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Most wrist pain is usually thought to be carpal tunnel syndrome and often misdiagnosed, sometimes leading to unnecessary surgery. At Springwater Chiropractic we will do a thorough exam to determine the cause of the wrist pain. Either way we have non-surgical effective treatments to relieve wrist pain no matter what the cause.

Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion. Although fibromyalgia has many distinguishing characteristics, a lot of other possibilities need to be ruled out before labeling your problem fibromyalgia. That is why we do a thorough exam on all our patients to determine the exact cause of their pain, before treatment. If you do have fibromyalgia, chiropractic care can help.

Frozen Shoulder

Sometimes a minor shoulder injury or strain can cause a syndrome called adhesive capsulitis. This is commonly known as frozen shoulder, because of the inability to raise your arm in different directions. Specific therapeutic massage, laser therapy and chiropractic adjustments of the shoulder will allow the restoration of normal shoulder function. This does not have to be a life-limiting problem.

Gardening Injuries

Sometimes we refer to gardening as “the hobby that hurts”. Although many people find gardening enjoyable, they don’t see it like an athletic event, and thus don’t prepare properly. Gardening can be so enjoyable that you forget that you are not use to all that lifting and bending, tugging and pulling. By the time the sun goes down you have overdone it and ache all over from back pain, neck pain or joint pain. Remember to stretch beforehand, take lots of breaks and drink plenty of water. Chiropractic care will help you get back to your hobby as quickly as possible.

Headaches are usually the result of neck pain. 80% of headaches are caused by some structural misalignment or restriction in the neck or at the base of the skull. Chiropractic adjustments are very effective at relieving headaches.

Knee Pain

Whether your knee pain is of gradual onset or from a sudden traumatic injury, we will do a thorough exam then recommend treatment. Most knee pain is treatable with chiropractic care, but if we determine it isn’t, we will refer you out for a surgical consultation.

Pinched Nerve

Pinched nerve is kind of an old fashioned term for nerve compression. Nerves travel throughout your body. They carry vital information to and from your brain. Nerves can be compressed or “pinched” in several different spots, mostly along joint lines. When this happens the signal your brain gets from that nerve is pain. Chiropractic care helps restore normal joint function and relieves nerve compression causing you pain.

Plantar Fasciitis

The bottom of your feet is called the Plantar region. Fascia is the layers of muscle and skin. An “itis” is inflammation. By definition plantar fasciitis is inflammation on the bottom of your feet. Treatment for this condition may include chiropractic adjusting of your feet, laser therapy, therapeutic massage as well as home care exercises and the possible need for shoe orthotics.

The sciatic nerve is the biggest nerve bundle outside of the spinal cord and travels from the lower back down the leg to the foot. Compression of this nerve is literally a pain in the butt. Chiropractic adjustments as well as some stretches we will show you will help get rid of this pain.

The irregular curvature of the spine is called scoliosis. Usually this is detected around age 8-12, which is the best time to start treatment. Scoliosis varies in degree of severity. The type of treatment depends on the severity. Once a patient has reached adulthood, the human skeleton is fully formed and this limits the ability to change abnormal curvatures of the spine. From that point on it is important to keep the spine flexible with regular chiropractic adjustments to slow degenerative forces.

Shoulder Injuries

Shoulder injuries can be complicated. We may do some x-rays or an MRI on the injured shoulder depending on what is found on our exam. Chiropractic care is important for all your joints, especially the complex shoulder joint. We effectively treat shoulder injuries every day without the need for surgery.

Sports injuries

We’re proud that several professional athletes count on us to keep them in their game. We also consider ourselves the weekend warrior repair shop, because most of our patients are passionate about their sports and want to continue to enjoy them. We use a variety of therapies to get people better as quickly as possible from back pain, neck pain or joint pain.

Stress is one of the biggest threats to our health these days. Stress tightens muscles, increases neck or back pain, weakens our immune system and reduces our bodies abilities to heal and overcome injury. Chiropractic care and therapeutic massage are wonderful at reducing your stress.

Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis is a repetitive use injury seen often in tennis players from using too much backhand, but also from a lot of jobs that require wrenching and torqueing at the elbow. Chiropractic adjustments of the elbow, therapeutic massage and laser therapy along with home exercises will help relieve this problem.

The sudden snapping of the head backward and then forward is called whiplash. This is most commonly seen in rear-end collision auto accident injuries. This unprotected movement moves the neck beyond normal limits and causes overstretching and tearing of connecting ligaments along with the rupture of blood vessels in the neck. An x-ray will be used to identify the extent of damage and then we will use infrared laser therapy to make sure the ligaments heal properly and you recover from your whiplash.

Wellness means so many different things to different people. In American medicine terminology, wellness could be simply the absence of disease. But wellness can mean so much more. Wellness can be euphoria, a feeling of vigor and alertness. Most of our patients come to us originally to get out of back pain, neck pain or joint pain, but then find that chiropractic adjustments can make them feel so good, even if they weren’t feeling bad.

Work Injuries

The most important thing to do if you have an injury on the job is to report it immediately to your employer. Don’t wait and give it a few days to see if you might feel better. Most of the time you will recover quickly from an injury, but if it turns out to be more complicated, you will have wished you would have reported it. We do treat worker’s compensation injuries. We encourage you to get the proper Chiropractic treatment and don’t just mask your pain with medications.
